What we collect
- What you search for: the car details and problem description you type, plus which results you mark as fixing it. We use these to run your search, count your plan's searches, and improve Threadwrench.
- A random browser ID and a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address. These count free searches so the free plan stays fair. We don't store your actual IP address.
- Your email and purchase details, if you buy a plan. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Waitlist and advertising emails you choose to give us.
Who else handles your data
- Search and AI services receive your search details to find and read forum threads. Some of these services may use what they receive to improve their own products.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Cloudflare hosts the site.
- Ads: the free plan may show ads. If we use Google AdSense, Google may use cookies to show ads, and you'll be asked for consent where the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal information.
Your browser
Threadwrench saves your random ID and your Threadwrench key (if you have one) in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your searches, email or account at any time. Contact us to make a request.
